The extension adds support for case insensitive text inside the PostgreSQL 8.3 branch.

This extension basically works by transforming all given text into lowercase and comparing in that state.

For PostgreSQL 8.4 and higher, case insensitive text is natively supported via its own citext module.

citext 2.0.2 is a script for Database Tools scripts design by David Wheeler. It runs on following operating system: Windows / Linux / Mac OS / BSD / Solaris and has as system requierments: PostrgeSQL 8.3 only .
